About Course

In a time of increased climate whiplash, we have seen fires become ever more devastating and deadly, and not just in traditionally fire-prone areas. This course offers a more encompassing look at fire that includes the essential role it plays in natural ecosystems and how we have upset the balance with development and fire suppression efforts.  It then explores potential solutions and tangible steps that can be taken to defend life and property in the face of increasingly more volatile events.
